James "Jim" Johnson
- The author's thesis is flawed fundamentally due to the fact that there is little to no exegetical support that makes sense and from biblical theology which is undergirded by exegesis. Another aspect is that the author is in a teaching position in a Catholic university, has a PhD from the same. And yet we are to take this as a new Protestant soteriology? At the heart of his proposal, he redefines the Greek word for faith, and you have to ask yourself, if he is right, then all the scholarship over centuries is wrong? There are so many things wrong with this book, and frankly his other books produced later, that the simple Gospel is being obscured by substituting "allegiance" for biblical faith.
