- Serious misunderstandings of Scripture and theology result from ignorance of the information in this book. Its treatment of the tripartite collocation of "asah hesed 'im" alone is worth the price of the book, e.g., by resulting in reversing misinterpretation of Luke 10:37a, restoring covenant loyalty to the Samaritan's actions, and helping to recover the true meaning of the Second Great Commandment (since it is no longer misunderstood to be universalized beyond its Lev 19:17-18 scope of fellow-covenanters). A highly significant work.
- In our Tuesday NT Seminars with Tom at the Univ. of St. Andrews, we have this term been reading and giving critical feedback on chapters 9 and 10 of *Paul and the Faithfulness of God*. It weaves together his previous thoughts and also gives fresh new material. For example, I find his concept of the loving solidarity of the church as our "worldview symbol" to be of particular help in my research re the intra-ecclesial Second Great Commandment as a foundation for future global Christian civilization.
