- Since the New Year's sale included the 2nd edition NET Bible, I took a look at this entry. I remembered the first edition of the NET Bible came in light and full notes versions, so I wanted to be sure which version I'd be getting here. As the product overview noted, the notes are an important part of the text: "The NET’s 60,000 notes bring complete transparency to every major translation decision and invite you to look over the translators’ shoulders..." Since notes in other study Bibles make their exegetical points more concisely than the commentary paragraphs, I often copy them into my preaching notes. Do these notes function as those notes do? or are they formatted as bibliographic references in other books? With just a couple of days left in the New Year's sale, I would like some clarity before purchasing...
- There is some disagreement on whether this version includes the notes or not, some saying that it does, and others saying it doesn't (some, from FaithLife). Given that the notes are the reason most people buy this version, it's important to know. I bought his version four months ago and I can affirm that it DOES have the full notes, as shown in the screenshot. This is from hovering over the link number the Mac version, but the footnote links are clickable in the Android version, too. One thing I did discover is that the "long-click original language lookup and word study" feature is only available if your mobile device is connected to the internet, so WiFi or Cellular Data. Not a problem 98% of the time. FaithLife, if things have changed, or if you'd like to clarify, do let us know here.
- Im not aware of any other "not full notes" edition. These are all the notes.
