- What is the difference between this publication and the "Catholic Lectionary. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software, 2009" already in my collection?
- This is the actual text of the lectionary in the current USCCB translation. It will also have the texts for the Sequences and many Gospel acclamations that are not straight out of the Bible. For example, from the example given (above), the Gospel Acclamation for the first Sunday of Advent (year A) is taken from Psalm 85:8 "Lord, show us your love, and grant us your salvation." The RSV has it: "Show us your merciful love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation." The NABRE has it: "Show us, LORD, your mercy; grant us your salvation." These are minor differences, but in the current system you'll never get what we actually hear on a Sunday. What's more in this edition we'll actually get the "O Antiphons" that lead up to Christmas!
