- I'm disappointed with the way Logos has produced this resource. Obviously simply doing screenshots of the text with the original arrangement would be nonsensical, but delivering this resource as four different resources is going to the opposite extreme. One gets the Hebrew original, the Tanakh 1917, Tanakh 1985 and the rabbinical commentaries as four separate resources. These could have--and should have--been integrated with each other that one can read a verse of scripture in the different texts/translations and then the commentary. Spreading this across four different resources makes it much less accessible and contradicts the original intent of the arrangement.
- I was hoping this book would have some good thoughts about Advent in it, perhaps even some useful stories. When I saw the content I was very disappointed. It has the readings and a few discussion questions with some brief answers. Nothing more. I got it on pre-pub, so I didn't pay much, but if I had been aware of the (dearth of) content I wouldn't have bothered in the first place.
- Hi Karl. Thanks for the feedback. The way I wrote (and use) the book is for it to be more like a springboard to family devotional time and less like a book to read for personal devotions. That's why I went with a question/response format. It's been very useful for my family to go through quick after dinner, or with the kids at bedtime. Sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations.
