- I downloaded a few pages and the mistakes that my Grammarly and myself found were quite frankly shocking. If something is going to be published and made available to the public it should be perfect. Dew to an accident, my punctuation and grammar is awful, and I hope that I would have someone check for errors. I had 3 people check my Thesis before I turned it in. for some, it may not be a big deal but the teacher in me .....
- Can you provide some examples? Sometimes the English is grammatically unconventional because the underlying Greek is grammatically unconventional, as the introduction explains, on page xiii: "The English translation should feel idiomatic where the Greek is idiomatic. It should feel formal where the Greek is formal. It should feel foreign where the Greek feels foreign. In other words, it is not only acceptable, it is positively desirable for the LES to feel like a translation, to the extent that Greek readers would have been aware that they were reading a translation. Ideally, the translation should be as rough or as smooth as the Greek would have seemed to a Greek reader who knew no Hebrew. Sometimes in Ecclesiastes this meant translating some rather unconventional uses of συν into awkward English."
