• Hi Fred! It's great to hear from you. I appreciate you taking the time to join in. The reason I hold to the belief that the nation of Israel will one day be restored is due to the number of unfulfilled prophecies connected to her future. Since Pentecost, individual Jews have come to faith in Christ. But as we all agree in 70 AD, the nation of Israel has been set aside, prophesied by Christ in Luke (Luke 21:10–24)...this key phrase is in Luke 21:12 "But before all these things" which reference Luke 21:10-11 (Tribulation). Here is a list of some of these unfulfilled prophecies which must and will be fulfilled: The Land Promise (Abrahamic Covenant): The Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:18-21) includes an unconditional promise of land to Abraham's descendants. Israel has never fully possessed the boundaries of the land even under Solomon's rule as described in Genesis 15, suggesting that the complete fulfillment will occur during the Millennial Kingdom when they inherit all of the land promised to Abraham. (Ezekiel 45-50) The Davidic Covenant: The Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7:12-16/1 Chronicles 17:4–15) promises an eternal kingdom through David's lineage. This promise includes the reign of the Messianic King from the line of David over Israel. Jesus Christ will fulfill this promise by ruling from Jerusalem over Israel during the Millennial Kingdom, establishing David’s throne forever. Exaltation Above the Nations in the last days: Prophecies such as Isaiah 2:2-4 and Micah 4:1-3 indicate that Israel will be exalted above the nations, with Jerusalem becoming the center of worship and instruction. The nations will come to Israel to seek the Lord, demonstrating the exaltation of Israel as the leading nation during the Millennial Kingdom. The New Covenant: The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34) promises spiritual regeneration and a renewed relationship with God for the nation of Israel. This covenant was not made with the church but between Jesus Her Messiah (Luke 22:20) and Israel. The church get's access the New Covenant though repentance and faith in Christ being grafted in (Romans 11) The New Covenant has not been fully realized for the nation but it has been fulfilled for individual Jews as well as gentiles. Jesus in Acts 1:6-7 clearly speaks of a future time of Israel's restoration and Peter at Pentecost Acts 2 speaks of a future time when Israel is restored in the Millennial Kingdom, with God placing His law within them and forgiving their iniquity, resulting in a transformed, obedient nation. The Nations come to Jerusalem to worship Jesus ruling and reigning(Zechariah 14:16–18) - This has never happened. The land will be transformed into a garden: Amos 9:14-15 and Isaiah 60 describe a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity for Israel, where they will rebuild cities, enjoy agricultural abundance, and never be uprooted from their land again. This kind of peace and prosperity has never been fully experienced by Israel, indicating its fulfillment during the Millennial Kingdom. The animals have changed: Isaiah 11:1–10 wold will dwell with the lamb The church will return to earth to serve and reign with Christ (2 Timothy 2:12) (Revelation 20:6) The new temple has not been built: Ezekiel 40-44 No doubt more can be said...but these examples are proof, that Israel is only temporary set aside. There is more trouble ahead for her (Zechariah 13:8–9) but a portion will be rescued and the nation will finally receive all here promises. Daniel and others are awaiting their inheritance: Daniel 12:13 | 13 “But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age.”
    1. Agree! God keeps his promises and his covenants with Israel. Any belief that the current Church is now Israel is calling God a liar. Chapter 31 of Jeremiah is about Israel's future and so many Jews today are hearing and responding to the Good New of the Messiah Jesus! God is not done with Israel, far from it. 35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs ethe sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): 36 “If gthose ordinances depart From before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.”  The New King James Version (Je 31:35–36). (1982). Thomas Nelson.
  • Can we get the English version of this excellent resource?
    1. There appears to be overlap between this pre-pub and the 26 volume works of Edwards. Is there any new material in the pre-pub that is not in the 26 volume works of Edwards?
      1. Hi John, This is the first edition of Jonathan Edwards' works to be collected for publication. There may be some works missing from this collection that would be in the Yale edition or the Hendrickson edition, since the Yale edition is a project seeking to include all resources that Edwards ever wrote and the Hendrickson edition is based on materials that came after this edition. Thanks for your question!
      2. Hi Daniel, Thanks for getting back with me. Since you have access to both lists, can you be more specific on what will be "New" to those who own the 26 Volume Yale product. From a "pure-content" perspective, 1st edition when compared to a later edition of the same work should be considered a duplicate with minor variations. The real challenge in weighing out the value of this pre-pub is determining "new content" . What percent or page count or # of titles is truly new content, unpublished in the Logos format?
    2. The training manuals are clear, helpful and concise.
