The book has lots of redundancy. It covers the same topics and references over and over again. It focuses a lot on the way seminaries should enrol their teachers, and there are a lot of pages concerned with refutation to prof. Harris. So it seems more an open discussion between scholars. This should be clearly stated in the cover. Nevertheless, the philosohical issues are clearly explained.

Asa recognized at the end of the book, it mixes addresses, lent lectures and even a parish sermon. So the contents are not uniform. From my humble point of view, part 1 ('the meaning of the cross') is far more valuable than the second part, 'the meaning of resurrection').
