Mark Bernard
- had this in my library for a long time, finally taking the plunge, overall very good, some of the explanations for basic concepts, e.g. Nominative case etc is a little unclear, but that maybe just a communicative disconnect on my part. Very well laid out, i am looking forward to tackling my GNT or other writings
- Not a review but a concern. I did one of the Mobile Ed courses with Logos and paid over $200 for it, it was so superficial that I was a had to overcome some anger on my behalf due to what I felt was little content for money paid out. Has anyone done this course who actually has a background with at least elementary Greek or Hebrew who could vouch for this course?
- Remember if you buy a course and don't like it, you can get a refund within 30 days.
- I have the same concern as Mark Bernard and would appreciate a review of this course based on how good a value it is based on amount and quality of content and cost. Thanks
- Apart from buying it about 1 month before the 49% sale :( Overall I am a little disappointed in terms of the price point of this product (Which tips over $200 AUD). I didn't quite get the substance I thought that a price like this should attract. In fact there are many resources at a quarter of the price who could have given me slightly more content and structure. Everything that is covered here is very rudimentary, (And I mean VERY rudimentary). This would be an excellent resource for those who have never studied the bible before but I was wanting something with a little more meat on the bones. Some examples are the section on Genre, which only very briefly introduces them and scantly references (Or actually doesn't reference) how to deal with the Genre's at all. Another example is going over the 4 General areas of study, but not really displaying any decent methodology in tandem with Logos. In fact the parts where Logos where used where sporadic and isolated, and where not seamlessly integrated within the course. It would have been much better to go through a step by step Example SHOWING how logos could be utilized at each step. All in all I am very dissapointed with this course and would not recommend it at all, save yourself considerable money, or take that same money and buy 3-4 decent books on the subject for the same amount and you will be considerably light years ahead of where this course will take you. This will be the first and last Logos Course I will be buying
- I'm sorry to hear that the course was not what you were expecting. I would be happy to listen to further thoughts if you have them. (John.Schwandt@Faithlife.com) Our goal to provide courses for every type of learner. I'm sorry that this one wasn't a good fit. We do offer many courses that are more specific than this introductory 100 level course which was designed to orient people to the subject (as Dr. Bock does at Dallas Theological Seminary.) There is wide range of focus among the broad faculty that come from all over. Let me know if you would like to take a look at different course. Perhaps BI103 (Keener), OT201 (Walton), or NT201 (deSilva).
- John Schwandt I appreciate the response, i wanted to wait until i had a sufficient response to you. I have recently purchased the membership in Logos Now and was pleasantly supposed to see a Mobile Ed course on the Resurrection. Now i have the perfect opportunity to sample the quality of other courses. I have just started it and I must say I am impressed. Perhaps my faith in Mobile Ed has been somewhat restored. Thank you for your response to me.
