• This has been an incredibly useful tool for me as I provide Pastoral guidance and Scriptural insight. The NET 2nd ed full notes edition has served my studies well! I will say that the translation itself has stretched my understanding and perspective of some passages (notice that I did not minus points off for this in my review!), and admittedly I do wish they would have left some verses rendered in a more traditional way (e.g., Isaiah 9:6-7, John 3:16, etc.). But….there are some verses that I have been able to expand my understanding of the text simply because of the way the translators chose to render differently than just about any other that I know of, but supplied exactly shape they chose to do so (e.g., Galatians 2:20). All-in-all, this is a great Bible and very useful for anyone, especially those who spend a lot of time instructing others in the Word of God! One other critique that I must add is that when using the NET you will feel like you are the only one doing so. This Bible for one reason or another has not caught on in the public realm as much as it deserves (in my opinion), so it does make it difficult to preach and teach from because you are probably the only one using this translation. I use it, but mostly as a reference when teaching or preaching.
    1. Mark, I had never heard of this translation until I visited Dallas Theological Seminary for a "Preview Day," where they gave away this Bible as a door prize. I was on the fence about adding this to the collection upon doing more research on it. Still, after seeing your review (and having attended some of your sermons and Bible studies), I will pull the trigger on this and add it to my "prioritized books."
    2. Hi Joshua!! Glad to hear from you! I'm convinced that you will thoroughly enjoy this Bible. Blessings to you my friend!
