I picked this up for just over half price in a base package, I must admit it is a bit pricey. But I am about a quarter of the way through "City of God" and it pretty easy for me to read and with plenty of footnotes to help explain what is going on, you could almost say alot of the footnotes help give background info so you can understand better. And I must say their introduction is a major help in understanding the entire book. You can tell the people took GREAT CARE in putting this together so that a lay man like me could read this and enjoy it and reap a great benefit from it. And in this book (City of God) you can see some real parallels with what is going on today. I would highly recomend this collection for anyone who can afford it!!!

Also I would like to add, download the free Perseus Collections, they do use some of these for references.

I give a one star rating because logos has poorly linked this book. Any thing in bold type (as in titles of sections) that has verses ( 1. The title (1:1) page 42) is NOT LINKED. Every other book I have read from logos has these linked. Is time saving not a priority anymore??? But I have just started reading the book, so it does not reflect on the content of the book.

Yes they have improved it. But at a quick look they have missed some on pages 38, 39, 49, and 50. But that is where I stopped looking. Still could use improvement...

I hope this issue has been resolved fully. This is an extremely important work on Isaiah, from what I have read.

They did resolve about 75% of the issue. But logos is NOT what it used to be... Years ago they would have gone thru page by page and it would have been a 100% fix. Bt if they can't fix it an easy way then just LET IT GO!!!

FYI the author of this book supports female elders (pastors), critical race theory, and more.

Thanks for giving a perspective - this made me looking again at the book and, after reading the endorsements and a couple of pages in the See-Inside feature, now I bought it. Maybe I'll get to reading it through and writing a review one day.

NB.Mick Thanks for your reply. I just say this so everyone will turn on their discernment filter.

This is an excellent commentary. It is to the point and easy to read. Definitely reformed, and he shows how the Word is in the news today!

I like the idea of getting a summation of other commentaries, it helps me get an idea of the kind of work they contain. But overall I learned alot from this commentary.
