- Riddled with typographical errors not found in the print edition. Logos has something wrong with the OCR software that converted the Hebrew script. The mistakes happen commonly in the grammar and the workbook with these forms: ע and צ ד and ר ה and ח I used to suggest the Logos edition to my students, but I can no longer do so due to quality issues in the Logos edition.
- Did these ever get fixed in an update?
- This is a decent resource, if not a bit overpriced. At around 20 pages, it is a bit thin on content, but I like the concept. I think this approach would be particularly useful for students who have done a year of Hebrew and need a little help going through some texts. Check out the other resource by this author on the Ten Commandments, as it is more substantial and appropriately priced.
- Whilst I love Pratico's grammar and workbook, the Logos version needs extensive corrections. Nearly every instance where an ע is expected you get a צ. For example, שׁמע is printed as שׁמצ. I am a little puzzled how Logos could release a work with such extensive errors throughout. I assume this particular error is due to the OCR software not being able to make the distinction. But surely the QA processes should have picked this up. I feel pretty embarrassed having suggested this option to my students over the print edition!

- I just ran across this review, and it seems fine to me in my installation. I can't tell when the last update to this resource was, but I'm looking back at a printout I did of parts of the workbook from 4 years ago, and it seems ok. Shema (eg. in Exercise 12a, #12) is rendered properly with the ayin both in that printout and in the electronic edition I just looked at. Or in Exercise 1, when comparing similar forms in the consonants (Workbook page 5), in question 12, both tsade and ayin are listed side by side, and both are rendered properly. Again, this is true both in the printout from 4 years ago and today as I look at the software again. I know this is a very late reply, but Mathieu, I wonder if your font was corrupted somehow.
- Thanks, Michael. No, I am pretty certain the font was not corrupted. I reported the typos from within Logos whenever I saw them. The earlier chapters were not as bad as the later ones, so I assume they were progressing through the workbook fixing the errors. Hopefully they are mostly fixed now. I would love to continue using the digital version, as the print edition is often out of stock at the book suppliers here.
