Michael Billington
- Going back 60 years when I was a young, naive history major in college learnng the difference between objective history and emotional advocacy, Turabian's manual was our roadmap to creating a properly documented research paper. Glad to see it has kept up with the times to inlcude finding and documenting today's current digital information sources. This is a timeless work that is essential for anyone writing or publishing non-fiction of any type. Is it better than the Chicago Manual of Style or The Craft of Research? Probably not, each individual picks their own favorite - which is usually the one they first were taught to use when starting out.
- Sad to say, but after paying in full and being burned by the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary (only 13 out of 44 volumes released) and still waiting years after the initial sales pitch, I will never again pay in full for a series up front and wait for the future volumes to be released years later, or perhaps never. I'd rather wait and purchase a volume as needed for full price than have my funds tied up for years for volumes that may never be released. I would commit to purchase thjs set as a pre-pub, but not under this "pay now and wait forever" plan.
- Agreed. Planned releases can be altered or dropped, authors pass away, publishers lose interest, plagiarism is discovered, etc. I only sign on to these type of purchases when most volumes are already completed with only a few remaining and the publisher is well-known and highly regarded.
- Thank you for your insight into this! I will just purchase them individually for now!
- Very unusual - the second edition is on the market but the first edition has not even been completed for release yet. What's up with that?
- Look at the updated product description to see that it reflects the 2nd edition (2021). They should also update the book cover. I am still wait for the Logos publication, but too bad I had to use the Kindle version for class.
- I have its 1st ed bought from Wordsearch Now can search it on Logos app
- Do you have Blomberg's other book, Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey, 3rd ed.?
- I pre-ordered this back in March of 2021. This is an absolutely essential resource for determining exactly what the New Testament really means to convey - and to help us avoid being confused as to which words/phrases relate to each other in a sentence. Please everybody, place your pre-pub orders to hurry this along and get it produced and available.
- This project currently has the status of "Gathering Interest". That means it has not yet generated enough interest to move forward into production. This project is "on hold" until that happens. More detailed information about our Pre-Pub process can be found in this article: https://www.logos.com/prepub/about
- The Logos page for this says 16 volumes, but the downloaded resource says Volumes I-XV. Is there a Volumer 16 or is that an error on the Logos page?
- We will be adding Volume 16. It will automatically become available for all who already own this resource. Please accept my apologies for the ommission.
