St. David's Seventh-day Adventist Church
- From what I read on the Amazon reviews: "He brings out 2 scriptures -- Acts 20:7 where it says they gathered on the first day of the week to worship. And another one [...] where Paul tells the people to gather an offering for the poor church on the first day of the week. Because of those two scriptures he says that God mandated us to have our Sabbath on Sundays."
- My take on this issue is one of distinction. As stated by someone earlier, the Commands of the Sabbath are to be obeyed on Saturday. “Always has been. Always will be.” And Amen to that. And here is where a significant distinction is made; the distinction of the Sabbath, and the establishment of a “new day” to gather for worship. They gathered “on the first day of the week.” So WE have followed this practice since. But NOWHERE is it mentioned, and in no way, shape, or form, does it “move” the Sabbath to Sunday.
- The Bible is clear. You do NOT have any thoughts at death. Jesus says it is a "sleep". You know nothing until the Resurrection.
- Where exactly does it say that; "The Bible is clear. You do NOT have any thoughts at death. Jesus says it is a "sleep". You know nothing until the Resurrection."
- I guess then Jesus's words to the thief on the cross don't mean what he said when he said, "Today you will be with me in paradise"! Doesn't sound like he is going to be asleep. I agree with the others who mention the book of Revelation and other passages.
- Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10. Job.14:21. Ps.115:17. for Luke 23:43 all translations suggest Jesus went to some Paradise to entertain the thief on that Friday, however if one checks the original Greek language there is no comma and the understanding of that statement will change completely. farthermore when He rose up on Sunday morning He told Marry that he was not yet ascended to heaven. which creates another problem, if Jesus went paradise, does it mean Paradise is a place here on earth? Rev.2:7. and 22:1-2 suggest Paradise is in heaven. therefore Jesus statement can only be understood in the context of"sleeping to those who die"
