I always do background checks on authors of potential books I want to learn from, and boy-oh-boy am I ever glad I did for this commentary I was ready to purchase by Elizabeth Achtemeier. I almost gave her a pass because I am familiar with and respect what I know of her husband's work. But it turns out EA was ordained as a Presbyterian minister. Enough said both about this particular book, the series as a whole of which I am glad I have few books, and sadly I find myself even questioning her husband's perspective on theological matters. If you break with the Bible to create your own truths, then everything you claim is on shifting sand.
