    Disciples Love: New and Improved
Jesus' "New Commandment" didn't sound like a new commandment to his disciples, so why put so much stress on this? Jesus knew how hard it would be for Christians to love Christians, disciples to love disciples, and that our reputation... and His reputation... was on the line. How is this a new commandment?…

      Disciples Betray
There are many reasons Jesus chooses a disciple who betrays him, but one overlooked reason: discipling doesn't always "work". The expected outcome is not a perfect Christian, successful in all they do. The "win" is first in faithfulness. It is brutally hard and sad when a disciple betrays or walks away...…

        Disciples Wash Feet
Jesus takes one last night with his disciples to teach them explicitly how to be his disciples when he is physically gone. What will he focus on? What will he start with? Jesus starts by washing their feet. This is an explicit example of how to love, but also a model of discipler to disciple. It is not superiority, honor, respect, praise or appreciation we seek. It is feets. Service. Demeaning and Messy... but First in the Kingdom.

          Disciples are Simple
Jesus practiced simplicity on purpose, not because he was broke, but because it allowed him to direct his life rightly in the season he was in. How much of my time and attention is spent on "stuff maintenance"? How can I take a next step into radical simplicity? Simple Week How was your week? Slow? Unhurried?…

            Disciples Find Hidden Places
Jesus snuck away often to be alone with God and pray. He practiced and prioritized silence and solitude. This is more important than ever in a world of ubiquitous connection, entertainment and information. It is not about adding things to your day, but subtracting to make space. Sneak away to pray: Win the Day. How and when will you sneak away to spend time with God? How will you teach your disciples to do so?
