For those of us who view the LXX as the best guide to the ancient Scriptures, this is a real treat.

I always come back to the writings of Schleiermacher. His influence can be felt throughout the modern Protestant world, especially in popular evangelicalism. I just hope that Logos make The Christian Faith available soon.

Dabney's staggeringly racist ecclesiology is so bad that unless people read it for themselves they just cannot believe that anybody wrote such things. Europeans in particular find it hard to understand why people continue to reference such a man. I had only read his systematic theology, but when I read his anti-church racism I had to acknowledge that something had gone wrong at a deep level in his thought. It is no accident that the same theological framework could be found in racially defined churches in South Africa right up to the 1980's.
