Neil was my friend for almost 50 years, so you may discount this opinion as biased. However, I encourage you to read it for yourself and form your own opinion; mine is that this is the best book of its kind. Neil was a very underrated New Testament scholar and one of the very best of the 20th Century. His classes on the Gospel of John are legendary and his writings on that book and on Hebrews are among the best to be found.
