This is a recording of the Ash Wednesday sermon.

In our epistle reading this morning, Peter lays a firm foundation for our faith by pointing us to the apostolic witness, God's prophetic word, and the inspiration of the prophets by the Holy Spirit.

Our relationship with Christ has changed our relationship with the world. Before Christ, we could relate to others in any way we wanted. But now that Christ has found us, he calls us to be something to and for others, salt and light.

To sin against someone is to incur a debt. That is why we say, "How can I make it up to you?" To sin against God is to incur a debt as well. But how can we make it up to the Lord? What does he require of us?

The theme of the epiphany season is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though Scripture warns us that Christ will be revealed as judge on the last day, he is revealed today as savior. Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

In this last Advent sermon, we learn about God's great gift to us, the gift of Jesus, who is savior and Immanuel, God with us.

Everyone needs hope. To live without hope is to live without joy, love, or peace. As often as our world would rob us of hope because of evil, God comes to us in Christ to give us the gift of hope by giving us his promises. He has a good future stored up for those whom he loves.

While we all enjoy gifts at Christmas, the best gifts come from God. Follow along as we think about the gift of peace that God gives to us this Christmas from Isaiah 2.
