- Excellent article! I've been a fan of Charlie Schultz for decades but have never heard of Lee Mendelson. After reading this I was deeply moved to think about these two quiet, background men, who had such a huge impact on the understanding of religion portrayed on television, changing it from an embarrassing caricature to simple, but powerful and profound reality. When I was in college I took a class in creative writing taught by Ken Hall and Charles Schultz gave a book to each of the students. I treasure that tiny contact with a great man and am so glad to know "the rest of the story."
- What a great story I recognized Linus’s reciting Scripture as Luke because my father read that story straight out of his Bible every Christmas until we were all old enough to go to Christmas Eve service
- Great story and challenge to the Church!
