Notes in Logos 8 is not an improvement. Now we have to learn another thing in Logos in order to do our Bible Study. Isn't the purpose of Logos to make study easier? Then why change Logos notes so that I have to waste time figuring out how to use the tool when it worked just fine to begin with. I want my highlights as a tool and my notes as another tool. I will integrate the two when I want to. Also, this new notes feature is slow. I work on a 2018 Mac-book Pro and have 16 gb's of memory, and I usually keep only 2-3 applications open to do my research in order to avoid the Mac "spinning wheel of death" to appear. I can add half a dozen notes and the spinning wheel of death shows up for each new note. I am constantly shutting down Logos and restarting it in order to try to speed up the note taking feature. It is a frustrating feature that I had to pay money for in the upgrade! Logos, you are not helping me out in any way! This program has become difficult and extremely frustrating.
- justgrandmahere this is not true. At least from Logos 4 on they have been in the same tool. Now, you may have had them in different note files and it may seemed as though it was separate but it was not really. But in reality, you have that same functionality in the notes tool. You can look at just highlights, or you can look at just notes, or you can look at both. You can put certain highlight styles in specific notebooks just like you could put them in specific note files in the old system.
- The bottom line is how? And then it takes more work, more time, to separate them. My visual filters and notes were added to my chosen Scripture as I had seen fit for my purposes and editing was much easier in Logos 7. As I am studying today the BKC reminded me that Paul's hardships made him better, not bitter--but in my case this frustration is not working to the good, for me as a child of God!
- Separating them is very easy actually. In the notes tool, make sure you are only looking at highlights by clicking on that facet filter. Then you can use the command and shift buttons to select multiple highlights and you can bulk move them into their own notebook. Then you just turn that notebook on or off in the visual filter.
