Dear Grace Covenant Church,
West-Mont has decided to follow the 14-day closure that has
been put in place for all Montgomery County Schools. This closure will be
effective Friday March 13, 2020 and tentatively go through March 26th, with
students and staff returning on Friday, March 27th. This closure will include
not only the school, but also all individuals that rent space within the two
school buildings. Thus, we will not be able to meet at West-Mont for at
least the next two Sundays.
The elders have decided that we will meet as a church at Camp
Sankanac in what is “The Knarr Family Dining Room.” We will meet at the same
time on Sunday.
The address for Camp Sankanac is: 68 Bertolet School Rd
Spring City, PA 19475
If you have not been at the camp before you will park your
car in front of the main office building in the parking lot across the street
and then walk down the lane to the big white building. You will see our sign
which will direct you where to go. The Dining Room is in that building
where you can enter by the side doors. We will not run a Sunday School
but meet together as a church family.
We will be holding the Men’s Retreat.
If you don’t feel comfortable attending these public events,
we understand your reservations about doing so. Please read below
for the guidelines that we will following are spelled out.
In an effort to exercise wisdom during the spread
of the Corona Virus, the Organizers of the Men’s Retreat/Elders of GCC
recommend the following practices during our gatherings.
We encourage what is now called social
distancing. In other words, avoid touching others via handshake, hugs etc.
Instead greet each other with a hearty smile. You might want to
practice that hearty smile ahead of time.
Other guidelines to practice;
Avoid close contact with
people who are sick.
Avoid touching your
eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are
sick.
Cover your cough or
sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect
frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning
spray or wipe.
Wash your hands often
with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not
readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60%
alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
These guidelines are one way to
show a love for one another as we look out for the well-being of others.
For the most current and accurate
information, the Centers for Disease Control have resources readily available.

Let’s pray for our nation and our
world that this pandemic will serve the purpose of many seeing that their
Savior is not good health or having no threats to their well-being but they
will indeed see their need for a Savior in Jesus.
Because of Him,
Pastor Rick for the Elders of
Grace Covenant Church
