"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." - Psalm 46:1-3 I wonder, where do you turn to for refuge when feeling overwhelmed? What truth do you turn to for strength? In this Psalm we see that the Lord is the refuge and strength of his people. He is the one who never fails and is always present - through all things - even now. So we do not fear - not because we believe that God is going to 'swoop in' and get rid of the coronavirus, not because we think that as his people we will be kept from infection, but because through all these things - God is with us. He is our ever-present help in trouble As we were reminded last week, Jesus tells his followers: "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 6:33) Sounds like strength to me!.. have you fled for refuge to Jesus? With his blessings, Mike Eastman
