Sacrifices in the Millenium | Los Sacrificios en el Milenio
"And speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the Man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD:
Even He shall build the temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a priest upon His throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both." (Zechariah 6:12-13)
During our last time together, we saw in Ezekiel chapters 40-46 that there would be a new temple built in the Millennial Kingdom; and, in the Zechariah passage above, we saw that it would be Messiah Jesus that would build it. Which raises the question, will there be sacrifices in the temple? Let's let Scripture answer that question for us.
"And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering. And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering. And at the side without, as one goes up to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were two tables. Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices. And the four tables were of hewn stone for the burnt offering, of a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice. And within were hooks, a hand broad, fastened round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering."
Ezekiel 43:18-27
"And he said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon. And you shall give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto Me, to minister unto Me, says the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering. (verses 18-19)
And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says the Lord GOD." (verse 27)
It is clear from Ezekiel that sacrifices would resume under the Levitical priesthood.
Zechariah 14:16:19
"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles, and it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles."
It is also clear that the surviving Gentile nations would be required to come to Jerusalem to worship and to observe the feast of tabernacles, which commemorated the children of Israel living in tents in the wilderness during their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. This was one of the three major feasts under the Law of Moses.
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever...
Hebrews 10:1-18
"Then said He, Lo, I come to do Thy will O God. He takes away the first, that He may establish the second.
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
And every priest stands daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
From henceforth expecting until His enemies be made His footstool.
For by one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified." (verses 9-14)
As we know from this and other passages, the old sacrificial system was replaced by Christ's atoning death on the cross. By one perfect sacrifice our sin debt is paid, forever; and we are now holy and just and at peace with God through faith in the Son. As such, the sacrifices in the Millennial temple must serve another purpose. The most reasonable being that it is both a reminder of the ugliness of sin; and, as a memorial to the sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God, that now sits on the throne in the Millennial Kingdom.

Hebreos 10:1-18
"Entonces Él dijo: He aquí que vengo a hacer tu voluntad, oh Dios.
Pero este hombre, después de haber ofrecido un sacrificio por los pecados para siempre, se sentó a la derecha de Dios;
