This coming Sunday, July 26th, we are going to be traveling in time, and I hope you will join us for the journey. We will be traveling back to March 29th, which was the first Fifth Sunday of the year.
On that day, we were scheduled to do a special offering for One Great Hour of Sharing, but due to the state of the world at that time, we(I) totally overlooked the opportunity to support this excellent mission.
For over 70 years, One Great Hour of Sharing has provided Presbyterians a way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need around the world. The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.
Typically received during the season of Lent, each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing supports efforts to relieve hunger through the Presbyterian Hunger Program, promote development through the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People, and assist in areas of disaster through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
In a world of disaster, hunger, and oppression
Millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. You have the option to Give Online or get a check to the church office. We will be collecting money through the end of the month.
