A question about link sets ...
If I add a panel showing a volume from a multi-volume commentary to a link set, then that panel loads the corresponding volume as required whenever the link set reference changes. That's great.
What I'd like to do is to create a layout with a bible and a commentary panel, and have the commentary panel display my favourite commentary for each book, regardless of which series it comes from.
Can I set the "Series" on each of my favourite commentaries to achieve this?
- Thanks Graham. I already have my favourites prioritised. I wonder whether you would consider this an enhancement request then. Maybe in the hamburger menu for the panel where we set the link set, you could allow the user to nominate a collection from which alternate resource would be chosen when the link set reference changes. Maybe another way to do it would be have a panel that corresponds to a collection, rather than a resource. Thanks
- That would allow people to say create 3 collections for their "Best" "Second" and "Third" commentaries. And have three panels open, for each collection, and then we would also have our three favourite commentaries readily available, whatever verse we are looking at. :-)
- Hi Steve I really like your suggestion: "Maybe in the hamburger menu for the panel where we set the link set, you could allow the user to nominate a collection from which alternate resource would be chosen when the link set reference changes." I can see how that would work and sounds like a great enhancement. It will be interesting to see how Faithlife respond to it. In the meanwhile, you could use the Parallel Resource sets button to quickly move from the commentary determined by the linkset to your highest prioritise one (or second etc) by clicking the button and choosing the commentary at the top. It does involve an extra click or two but might be helpful in achieveing what you are looking for.
