I would like to see the following resources made available in a package for the benefit of many home schooled children who participate in the National Bible Bee: Greek and Hebrew language and helps such as Strong's concordance etc; Bible Memorization tools; Maps; Ray Comfort Collection; A few commentaries; 5 different Bible versions (KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV and NAS)
- Thanks for adding to the idea. I was rethinking the Bible versions and thought that Faithlife could offer a package giving an option of one of those 5 versions since they are the ones used in the National Bible Bee.
- No Bibles for the Catholic kids? I mean, I realize that there is a joke that runs along the lines of "Why don't Catholics read/ study/ know the Bible better? A: Because we pay our priests to read it for us!" And, admittedly, there's always just a bit of truth in a good joke, right? I say this as a Catholic, myself. I've always slightly envied (not to the point of deadly sin, of course - after all, what are we paying our priests for?!!) my protestant brethren, who have Bible study groups/ classes at their churches... Let's at least add a good free one (no copyright restrictions), the Douay-Rheims (after all this is the version that the King James was plager- um... translated? from), and the RSV:2CE.
- I have no issue with your suggestion. The 5 translations I mentioned were because they are used in the National Bible Bee. But yes, for the benefit of homeschooled families or any family that is in an environment that encourages Bible study, why not make a package that encourages children? Logos could create potential life long customers this way.
