We get in trouble when we are angry because we RE-act rather than respond in productive ways. If you look back on your life you will surely see times when you exploded and only made things worse. It is good when we angry to stop and ask some questions:
1. Why am I angry (hurt, fear, frustration)? Am I just in a bad mood and want to take it out on others?
2. Am I angry because someone has pointed out a vulnerability in my life? If so, I need to hear the word of correction and seek forgiveness.
3. Is there a productive way to respond to this situation (versus a passive-aggressive response or explosion)?
4. Have I brought the matter to the Lord? Is this something I need to leave with Him or does God want you to redemptively address the situation?
There are a lot of angry people in the world. It is essential that God's children learn to control their anger and lead people to a better way of handling problems.
Controlled Burn 11.17.20
Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent.
