“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear? Yet you have forgotten the Lord, your Creator, the one who stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth. (Isaiah 51:12–13).
These are great words for the churning. We churn because of politics, the economy, brutal people in our lives, abusive employers, reckless rumors, the opinion of the crowd, and so much more. God speaks to us in simple terms: Why are you afraid of the crowd when you belong to me?
This morning, take a little time to read through Isaiah 51-52. You will be strengthened to remember that our confidence and hope is not in the works of men or the approval of men. . . our hope is in the One who rules overall. No matter how big the problem . . .the Lord is bigger still. There is NOTHING outside of His control. In the end, we will see that He was guiding His children (which I hope includes you) the entire time.
