We are so glad to be a part of the work of the kingdom of God and reaching out to the community through Willowdale Farm. This weekend we had more than three dozen volunteers on the farm planting, water, mending fences, building compost bins and helping us pick and back greens. The farm is producing 12,000 lbs of food a year now and we planted about 30,000 seeds and cultivated the plants in the green house. Thank you to our volunteers, and especially to David, Delores, Bettina and Pete. Special thanks to the Rotary Club and other organizations helping to make this project possible, as we seek to provide good nutritious food to those who are in need.
We are soon to embark on a fundraiser to raise $15,000 toward a used farm tractor to help us with the heavy lifting and moving large amounts of product around. We are also looking for a donation of $200 for a small gas tiller capable of tilling the rows without having to disturb the ground cover, which is doing a great job of keeping the weeds down. Help us pray about this. Donations through the giving portal are welcome (http://www.faithlife.com/wfphc/give)
