WEEKLY PRAYER GUIDE: MAY 5 – 11, 2021
“Your hands made me and formed me; give me
understanding so that I can learn Your commands. Those who fear You will see me
and rejoice, for I put my hope in Your word. I know, Lord, that Your judgments
are just and that You have afflicted me fairly. May Your faithful love comfort
me as You promised Your servant. May Your compassion come to me so that I may
live, for Your instruction is my delight. Let the arrogant be put to shame for
slandering me with lies; I will meditate on Your precepts. Let those who fear
You, those who know Your decrees, turn to me. May my heart be blameless
regarding Your statutes so that I will not be put to shame.” (Psalm
119:73–80, HCSB)

INDIA:
A new wave of COVID-19 is
devastating communities in India. More than 350,000 new cases are being
reported daily. There are shortages of hospital beds, oxygen supplies, life
support equipment, and medicine. Many are unable to work because of the
lockdown and can no longer afford food for their families. In crowded cities, social
distancing is nearly impossible for the most impoverished.
Send Relief partners are
distributing food and face masks to the most vulnerable in cities throughout
India. In addition, they are
conducting trainings to help people understand how to prevent the spread of the
virus.
Because of these efforts,
tens of thousands are receiving help – with more distributions and trainings
being planned every day.
You can be part of the
response by donating to the COVID-19 Response Fund. Your gifts will provide
food, health training, masks and hope in a time of unimaginable hurt. Thank you
for sharing the love of Christ to those who need it most.
