1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. (John 1:1–3).
Think about the people who captivate you. Perhaps you love to go hear a favorite singer/entertainer, or a favorite athlete, or a financial guru. Maybe you have a favorite author and you would go to hear them speak if they were anywhere near your neighborhood.
You likely have someone in your family who holds a very dear place in your heart. Hopefully, it is your mate, your children, and perhaps others. You are blessed.
We might say Jesus is "right up there" with all these people." If you relate to Jesus with the same intensity that you give the people above, you are more devoted to Christ than most people. But . . . here's the thing: Jesus was not just a man! He was God in human form! Because of that, our relationship with Him should have much greater priority and devotion than to any other relationship!
Do you serve Him above all? Does He get priority in your time? Are you devoted to Him as God or simply as a noteworthy man of history? Search your heart as I search mine. Let us understand the qualitative difference between Jesus and all others. If we say we know He is God . . . we should relate to Him as God. If we cannot see HIm as God, then we do not see the true Jesus.
