- Ken, I am not familiar w/that work but will try to locate it. Yes, orthodoxy does have a way of making things up as they go along. Agreed the winners do, but not ALL records, I'm not sure what you mean that God is one, Ro 3.30, Gal 3.20, Ja 2.19 do not speak of multiple gods but just "A" God. I did not know that Jesus was a mask to hide God, but rather Jesus was God's Anointed - does not sound like a mask to me - Why would God Anoint himself if it was just a mask?
- Those are reasons it was declared heretical. It basically doesn't work. That doesn't stop people from using modalism to try to explain the trinity though.
- Ken, I might tend to agree with you that modalist use a different analogy when attempting to describe the different roles of God as played out during the various stages[ages] of humanity. Their usage in regards to the trinity are still in a form of a trinitarian application, they have a triangular god all the same...
