“15“Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.” (Revelation 16:15)
I'm not one to go around saying the second coming of our Lord is imminent. It is certainly closer than it has ever been before. However, the truth is, He could come today.
The one thing we know for sure is: when He returns it will catch us by surprise. Those banking on a last-second conversion will be caught off guard. The one thing true about something being "unexpected" is it catches you unaware.
The Biblical admonition is this: Live each day with the thought, "This could be the day my Lord returns." Then reflect on what that should mean for the urgency of sharing the gospel with others. Think about your repentance, your priorities, how you are going to approach the Bible, and the choices you make during the day. If you KNEW Jesus was coming today what would you do differently?
Now ask another question: How do you know He is NOT coming today?
