On Wednesday Night, April 13th, at 6:30pm, we are in the middle of Holy Week and we will study the 4th Saying of Jesus from the Cross which is found in Matthew 27:46 "My God, My God why have you forsaken me?" The question we have been asked to answer is - Did God abandon Jesus (if only momentarily) or did Jesus actually perceive that God had abandoned Him? Why did Jesus ask "WHY"? Did Jesus NOT know WHY He went to the Cross?
I believe God did turn His back on Jesus at that moment because God cannot look on sin, and Jesus took on all our sins upon himself and bore them on the cross.
