- Thank you, Mark: some light in dark times. As an attorney who taught Roe and the cases preceding it, I would only add that the Constitution exists to LIMIT governmental interference into personal decisions, especially when those decisions are deeply personal, particular to circumstances, and made with different, good faith understandings of what is moral and right. To lift Roe's limits on state laws governing pregnancy is to use government to impose a particular moral stance on all. Whether and when abortion is moral is a question for faith and conscience; whether or not the government should impose a particular answer on those who do not share it is a separate question.
