Good morning. I am a former wordsearch user, who was brought into logos due to the aquistion a year or so ago. I am also a former cheif information officer. So, I have a pretty extensive technological background. That stated, I still have been fairly frustrated in trying to get my logos up to speed for daily use, for the things that I now do as a fulltime pastor. By the way, I have also purchased the training library. My schedule as a pastor is extremely busy, like all pastors. Consequently, I don't have hours of free time available. As the rest of you have to do on a weekly basis, I have to prepare sermons, bible studies, and do pastoral care. I am presently assigned to a large church in Danville, Illinois. I am rebuilding our contemporary worship and young adult ministries. And helping us develelop a multicultural strategy.
I can do use a couple of the workflows and sermon prep tools. I do use the factbook and sermon starter tools. However, I have an extensive library of around 1900 books. I'd like to be able to do research. The search tools aren't intuitive. At the end of the day, when I look through the library of training, it is overwhelming, and I want to take advantage of these wonderful tools. Often times, the instructor talks super fast, and again, I really want to use these tools, but I have sincerely had a lot of frustration. Please advise.

Maybe you have an idea for how to improve Logos Bible Software, a new resource to suggest they add to their library, or you’ve just come across a snag – most people don’t know that you can make suggestions directly to theteam at Faithlife and Logos Bible Software. A little bonus is that you can see what they’re got on their radar for future improvements. 😉
- If there are some particular tasks or searches you’re wanting to do, let me know and I’ll try to be more specific. One thing I would recommend: watch at least one MP Seminars video (either a video from Camp 1 and 2 or the Video Reference Guide) at least once a week. Even though I have a super busy schedule myself (full time PhD student and I work part time), I take a little bit of time out once a week to watch at least one decent size video on the MP Seminars website to keep my training fresh, plus the training is also “bite sized” by spreading it out so I can really work over what I’ve learned in the training video that week.
- Agreed. I really enjoy Moe's videos. I try to take notes as much as possible because my memory leaks (apparently).
