Wherever you are this morning, God placed you here for a reason.
Verse of the Day, November 8, 2022
Acts 17:27 CSB "He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find him, though he is not far from each one of us."
Paul was walking through Athens and saw a statue of an unknown God. Paul told the people of Athens:
"For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, 'TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.' Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation" (Acts 17:23–26 NASB95).
Paul knew God placed him in Athens and appointed the time to tell the people living in Athens about God, who made the world and gave life to all people.
Dear gracious heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that wherever I go today, I can tell people about you "so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find him, though he is not far from each of us." Lord Jesus, I know the closer I walk with you today, the more quickly I will tell other people how easily they can know You. Thank You, Jesus, for the opportunities You will give me today to tell someone how great my God is. In Jesus' name, amen.
