The Center For Discipleship

Please pray.

Let's take time for intentional, effective, fervent prayer for the type of meetings that can manifest and maintain a Spirit-led movement . . .here's why: The best time to be aware of the presence of Jesus is now! You can't see Jesus with your physical eyes, but if you open your heart, you can with your God given perceptions. I 'see' Jesus with the inner senses of my heart, the 'knowing' in my spirit and I'm ever in awe of Him! Let's learn to recognize and obey the promptings of Christ by His Spirit working in us. The kingdom of God begins in the domain of the unseen and the immaterial. It starts to manifest in our realm when you recognize and obey Christ's promptings, by His Spirit, within you. Jesus wants His body to exist and grow in meetings that are open to revelation, that are welcoming and aware, and submissive to His Presence, and can indefinitely sustain a movement! There was such a meeting occurring regularly in Jesus' day -- the ancient ekklesia that met in cities and homes and maintained a movement of non-hierarchical democracy where anyone present could speak as they were led by Holy Spirit. Because of His Leading, everything was done decently and in order without a set of external rules and governance....it was not emotionally driven, rather it was Spirit led! Referring to the supernatural revelation that Peter received that Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of the living God," Jesus said, "Upon this rock, I will build My ekklesia. Unfortunately, during the first three centuries, Jesus' Spirit-led ekklesia gradually transitioned into a programmed meeting, planned and controlled by human leaders and turned Christianity into a structured religion rather than a spontaneous movement of God. For the most part, this is where we still are today. In the 21st century, as far as is possible for us, it's time to transition 'church' to The Ekklesia again! It's not difficult, but does require much prayer, intentionality and mutual submission to Holy Spirit and each other as we gather. It is beautiful to behold and participate in! My spirit longs for this and I believe your's does also! If not now, then when? If not here, then where? If not us then who?
