Sola Gratia is an Open Christian Book club meeting Tuesdays at 7pm UK (which is usually 11 am Pacific / 2 pm Eastern).
This is an informal gathering to read and discuss Bible passages and topics with the aid of a well-informed commentary. It was started by a group of open-minded Christians who in the past belonged to a high-control and/or works-based religious community which obscured the notion of salvation by Grace. We meet together with the intention of experiencing metanoia, a changing of mind. We do this by reading Scripture in a spirit of curiosity and love, aiming to interpret it with the lenses of Grace and Gospel, and with the aid of a well-respected commentary. It is our desire that these discussions will help us to wrestle with strongholds such as superiority and exclusivity, self-righteousness, toxic religiosity, and fear and hate.
You don't need to own the book or have read the material to attend or participate. Attendees will have the option of singing up for a free virtual library account to access the title we're currently considering.

1. Sola Scriptura: Scripture alone is the ultimate authority in matters of faith.
2. Sola Fide: Salvation is by faith alone, without reliance on good works.
3. Sola Gratia: Salvation is by God's grace alone, not earned by human merit.
4. Solus Christus: Christ alone is the mediator between God and humanity.
5. Soli Deo Gloria: Glory is to be ascribed to God alone in all aspects of life.
This group is open to and will be attended by people of various persuasions and convictions within the Christian umbrella. We aim to be an open, safe, judgement-free and toxic-free space, and will not welcome comments critical of the beliefs, practices and/or moral codes of Christians different from us. We will also not welcome any attempts to convert people to any particular denomination or church. All are welcome to attend or stop attending at any time. It is a layperson, volunteer-run, group which has no expenses and no motives apart from providing a safe space where can gather to support one another, heal, find inspiration, and grow.
