Hope Secured by Suffering
Public Scripture Reading Text: Luke 22:7-13
Main Text: Luke 22:14-20
Main Points:
1. Purpose-driven Fellowship (v. 14-18)
2. A Powerful Picture (v. 19-20)
Note From Pastor Jordan:
Galatians 3:24-26, (ESV) “So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." This week we take time to remember Jesus’ broken body and spilt blood that secures our salvation. I am well aware that this is a monthly habit of ours, but it is important that we not let it become boring or unfruitful in our lives. One of the biggest ways our salvation affects us today is in our view of sin. We must view sin as an ugly reflection of our old sin nature. Our sin also points us to our great need for a savior. It is through the law, confronting our sins, that we see our need for such a savior.
