I just discovered Canvas and was able to get up to speed quickly. I like the direction it is going, but there are areas it could really use improvement.
1) I used it to phrase a passage, and discovered that it was difficult to move same phrases above the line of text that preceded it. This is sometimes necessary.
2) I did get the hang of disconnecting a word which allowed that freedom, but moving that word was soooo... slow that I often did not think I had actually done anything. That really needs to be addressed.
3) I also that moving anything an aligning it the way I wanted it was very difficult. Slow, but also one line snaps to one place and another snaps somewhere else
4) The tedious process of adding the "highlighting" was much too difficult.
5) really need to allow copy and paste! Text I can add this way from another resource by pasting it into a text box. But other things could be pasted in to a page but apparently cannot.
6) how about integrating the sentence diagramming tool so that the text is easier to manipulate? At least allow the output of this tool to be transferred/pasted into the Canvas.
7) loved being able to save as an image then adding to a note. That will be quite useful!
I hope that this tool is not being abandoned as someone else commented. Make it better so that we get real value and can prepare slides quickly
