Be Not Deceived (Be Watchful) - Chaplain Grilley Mitchell - 03.15.2026
Someone tells you the sky is green. How do you know they are trying to deceive you? Because you know for a fact the sky is actually blue. Being wary of deception is more than just listening when someone you trust tells you another is a liar. You must know for yourself what the truth is. And not just choosing to believe either. If you only believe that the deep end of the pool is over your head, someone with enough charisma can convince you that is no longer the case. Belief in Christ is one thing. It is another thing to have a relationship with The Father through prayer and studying His Word, abiding by it, and witnessing the result on your own life yourself. Once you Know that God is good, that He loves you and wants what is good for you, you cannot be convinced otherwise. Obeying Jesus’ command to not be deceived is not so much about recognizing lies but continually growing in our knowledge of the truth.
