Most freedoms come with a from and a to. A good sale frees you from paying high prices and frees you to acquire something you normally could not afford. The US’ fight for independence freed us from overburdening rule and freed us up to make of our lives what we choose. Belief in Jesus gives us freedom from the eternal consequences of sin and frees us to be the kind of human God intended us to be through the power of the Holy Spirit.
