Why in verse 2 of Jonah 1, is the word 'her" or in all other translations, "it" used to describe the city of Nineveh? Why would it not say something like "them" when referring to judgement on the people for the evil they have been doing?
2 “Get up! Go to the great city Nineveh and cry out against "her", because their evil has come up ⌊before me⌋.” (LEB)
2 “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against "it" because I have seen how wicked its people are.” (NLT)
