- Tolkien himself eschews the idea that there is anything allegorical in his writings. He says he just wanted to tell a mythical story from his own land (England). For any author to claim there is hidden meaning in the pages of Middle Earth is absurd. Enjoy the story as a wonderful tale of friendship and heroism, but don't read more into it than Tolkien intended.

- Outstanding!!!! Like the subject of this course, Dr. Varner presents the truth of this material with a compassionate call to the wisdom of Jesus. He clearly expounds on the words of James, both explaining the cultural significance of the text to first century believers as well presenting significant connections that bridge the gap to twenty-first century believers. I highly recommend this course to anyone seeking pathways to a deeper working faith.
- Can’t wait. Doing this in parallel with my Men’s Bible Study starting now
