Richard Bridgan
- This is an excellent work of presenting and legitimately sustaining a helpful heuristic model for reading and analyzing the Johannine writings. Although the author specifically addresses Johannine pneumatology, as I read through the monograph I found myself reflecting on many other intertextual and conceptual connections, both of biblical and non-biblical sources. The title didn't really "speak" to me and I nearly passed over the opportunity to avail myself to this month's free access provided by Logos/Faithlife. So grateful that I didn't! The author is thorough; subsequently, the reading is frequently repetitive. But I considered that for me, this was likely a helpful aid to my comprehension and retention. I'm very thankful I was prompted to further check it out and read it through.
- Dr. Schaefer was one of the early influences in my journey to faith in Christ. I am delighted to have access to his works, as I no longer had any copies. His visionary insight and truthful responses to the questions and changes affecting modern culture may still serve us as we engage our post-Christian culture.
