- They have ruined Halley's outstanding and scholastic work. The politically correct bandits have taken his name an put it on their work. I returned it. Halley was an anointed man of God.
- Anyone know where I can get a digital, pre-1962 version of this work?
- Hey Randy! I just picked up a 1960 edition off eBay (see pic below). I searched for “Halley’s Bible Handbook 1960” and it popped up but you have to be careful and check the pics. Since posting to this thread I picked up one 1957 and one 1959 and they both turned out to be 1965 editions but the interesting part is they appear to have the Catholic persecution of the Church in tact. So there are editions beyond 1962 that appear to preserve some or all of the Catholic persecution but how much I do not yet know. My goal is to check the 1960 against the 1965 and see how much is altered. The quote above by Dave Hunt is the 1944 version pages 608-613. I have been able to find parts of the above quote on page 777 but all of the 1944 quote above I have yet to find. There’s a section on jesuits. It is definitely not friendly toward Catholicism but I can’t find all the parts of the quote yet. I’ll know more when I’m able to compare quotes above. the pic below is what I thought was 1959 but ended up being 1965. The other is pic of the 1960 version I just purchased proving its 1960 and not something else.
- P.S. this same sort of editing occurs with Foxes Book of Martyrs. The Logos edition of FBM contains 19 occurrences of Jesuits. Various versions on Amazon range between 0 - 37. The newer the version, the less references to Jesuits and Rome it contains. Never ever take your eyes off Rome. She is the Mother of All Harlots drunk on the blood of the martyrs, the city upon seven hills. The only complete edition of Foxes Book of Martyrs was published in 1684. It is 3 volumes totaling 3,000 pages in length and it is one big tractate against Rome. It can be purchased here: https://greatsite.com/shop/facsimile-reproductions/1684-foxes-book-of-martyrs-2/
