Gary M. Burge is a New Testament scholar at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He left Wheaton in 2017.

How is it possible that a person who describes themselves as "disabled" and seemingly doesn't want to become enabled(?) casts a negative light an "ableism"? Why is disabled good and ableism bad? Am I disrespecting God by asking Him to heal myself or someone else, and what manner of healing is socially just? This book seemingly advocates a very confusing mindset that doesn't seem Biblical.

So often an author will exhaust their nuggets in the beginning of a book and add a bunch of blather to justify the page count. I thought this was happening with Dr. Heiser's book, the Unseen Realm, as the front-end was loaded with great material. To my delight it got better and better. In the process, it reinvigorated my love of Bible study and led me on a wonderful journey.
