- Now that Volume 2 (New Testament) is in production, everyone that is interested in, please also pre-order Volume 1 (Old Testament). The best is to pre-order both volumes set, because it got already significant interest: https://www.logos.com/product/247559/the-andrews-bible-commentary (Seperate Volume 1 is also available, but the interest is much smaller.) Importantly, our cards won't be charged upon pre-order, only when released, and if you already have Volume 2, and additionally get the set (Vols. 1+2) you will pay ONLY about $50-60 (for Vol. 1) not the whole sum of $110 for the set. Thanks
- I've just seen that Logos offers "The Andrews Bible Commentary" also as single volumes and the second volume (New Testament) is already "under production": https://www.logos.com/product/247555/andrews-bible-commentary?queryId=513cddcf941925f35b3b62b1741f2c0c Logos, you make it so complicated and not fair to us. You collect interest for the both volumes separately and also for them together. Which is a bit weird, because the interest splits. The second volume will be available soon, but those of us who ordered the both volumes together probably will get it/them in 2 years, because the interest to the Old Testament is smaller. I pre-ordered the both volumes at low price a while ago and don't want to cancel this. Logos, would you consider we to get the New Testament when is published under this pre-order and the Old Testament later? I think it is completely fine our credit cards to be charged when we get the New Testament although we will receive the Old Testament much later. Or charge half the sum. Thanks
- When we offer books in different combinations, it is simply to see which combinations our customers prefer. No one is limited to picking only one option, and nothing is charged until a product goes live. We do not double charge customers if they have chosen Pre-Pub products that overlap. There is no need for you to cancel your orders. If you need further help with this, please contact us at 888-563-0382 or cs@logos.com.
- It seems that it reached already the goal. It should not be anymore ˋAlmost funded´. I started reading John Peckham two months ago. His books are scholarly and I needed some time to get used to the style, but now I am fine. I have all his books, articles and videos. I find his books very relevant. One issue he looks at is, if God is all powerful and loving why there is so much evil in the world. He coins the term ˋrules of engagementˋ and explains the existence of evil with the cosmic conflict between God and satan in the center of which is God‘s character. Have not read anything better on this. Another one is free will vs. determinism. There is a book devoted to the divine attributes, the type of love God has toward the creation, etc. A book on prayer is coming next, if God is omnipotent why he needs to hear us. He looks most of the things trough the prism of the cosmic conflict, that in my opinion is the only right way. John looks always first at the different models that already exist and then makes his own research through the canon of the Bible. I am looking for this book as well. In my opinion he is the best SDA Theologian currently.
- Glenda, I certainly understand you and I am disappointed, too. The point though is that we don’t pay upon preorder and with one simple click one can cancel the preorder. You simply were not informed. It is what it is, but we need this published, so instead of being disappointed everyone that is even slightly interested should preorder to reach the goal and not cancel until this go to production. From the start of the production to the publication takes about additional 6 months. A canceling at this time is possible and does not influence the publication. Please everyone that is even slightly interested preorder and don’t cancel. Tell the members of your churches.
- I have read the last few posts and the respective answers from Joe McCune (Faithlife) - thank you for your answers. Joe McCune, this would be one of the most important release from the SDA publishing house in Logos. You already have in Logos the one volume Andrews Study Bible, but the two volume Andrews Bible Commentary is more important and compliment nicely. I understand that Logos exists from profits, but I really hope, if possible, not to wait until you gather enough interest. It seems to me the interest already is there and I am sure many will buy after the release. Thank you.
